Cosmopolitan was a 24 story flat slab turn-key structure. It consisted of garage for levels one through seven and condominiums for levels eight through twenty-four with a pool at level seven overlooking the Galleria and Downtown Houston. The project contained approximately 365,000 square feet of concrete and was completed one month ahead of the contractor’s schedule with no lay down room on the site.
Materials Used
Foundations- Auger cast piles under 4,000 cubic yards of pile caps.
Elevated Slabs- 8” post-tension flat slab.
Vertical Support- 16 and 20 inch thick shear walls at the stairs and elevator core with a multitude of different size columns.
